Install and Activate Plugins

All HOFA plugins can be installed in a few simple steps. All you need is the HOFA-Plugins Manager, an internet connection and the login credentials for your HOFA-Plugins account.

1. The HOFA-Plugins Manager can be downloaded here.
2. Should you not hava an internet connection, you can follow the steps in this article here.
3. Should you not have a HOFA-Plugins account yet, you can register to HOFA-Plugins here.
   

Download HOFA-Plugins Manager

In this first step, download the HOFA-Plugins Manager here. You may have to enter your email address.

On Windows, you can download and launch the HOFA-Plugins Manager by double-clicking the .exe file.

On macOS, you can install the HOFA-Plugins Manager into your Applications folder.

Install HOFA Plugins

After launching the HOFA-Plugins Manager, an overview will appear containing all the products that are available for installation.

First, select the software you wish to install by checking the corresponding box on the right side of the Manager.

Then select all the plugin formats you wish to install at the bottom of the HOFA-Plugins Manager. For Windows, we recommend only checking VST3, for Mac to both check VST3 and AU, and for Pro Tools users to only check the Pro Tools box instead.

Now click on “Install” at the bottom of the Plugins Manager.

You can now click on “Start” to begin the installation.

Once the plugins are installed, you just need to make sure that the DAW recognizes the plugins by selecting the installation path in the DAW and conducting a rescan.

Please note that to use the HOFA plugins, activating the respecting licenses it necessary.

Deactivate Plugin-Licenses

In some cases it might be necessary, that the plugin licenses need to be deactivated. In these cases, open the HOFA-Plugins Manager and click on "Licenses" at the top right.

You might need to login to you HOFA-Plugins account.

On the following page you can choose the second option "Deactivate Licenses". You can then select the products you wish to deactivate.

Activate Plugin-Licenses

Next, you can activate your licenses. To do so, open the HOFA-Plugins Manager and click on “Licenses” at the top right.

On the following page you can choose the first option "Activate Licenses". You can then select the products you wish to activate.

You can also activate the plugin license directly in the plugin. When opening a plugin without an active license, a text prompt will appear asking for license activation.

There, you can click on "Activate", then log in with your account details. The license will now be activated for your device. After that, the plugin needs to be reinserted or the DAW project needs be reopened, so the license can apply.
